Ella Saini is a Filipino-Indian Canadian director, editor and visual artist based in Scarborough, ON. Her work is an exploration into the nuanced interactions between people, their environments and the social structures that influences their lives. Through mixed-media visual storytelling, Ella’s work delves into themes of identity, belonging, and the social systems that shape these spaces. 

Their latest short film, unhome, has been screened at 2024 TIFF Next Wave and the 2023 F-O-R-M Festival of Recorded Movement, earning recognition for its poignant exploration of displacement and the concept of home in urban life. She also directed and animated The Talk, a short mixed-media documentary about the lack of sex education for queer youth in Canadian schools. The Talk has been screened numerous times within Canada and around the world, more notably shown at Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival and Regent Park Film Festival
